The veteran’s competition in the Barbados National Squash Championships which is sponsored by the Barbados Olympic Association got underway on Tuesday May 9th at the Barbados Squash Club (BSC), Marine Gardens, Christ Church (427-7913).
Competition this year is in Men’s +35, +40, +45, +50 and +55 age groups as well as in the Ladies’ +45 and +50 divisions.
The top two seeds in each contested age group are as follows:
Men Over-35: #1 Marlon White, #2 Mark Sealy.
Men Over-40: #1 Nigel Griffith, #2 John Cumberbatch.
Men Over-45: #1 Nigel Griffith, #2 Mickey Armstrong.
Men Over-50: #1 Orson Simpson, #2 David Foster.
Men Over-55: #1 Errol Pilgrim, #2 David Foster.
Ladies Over-45: #1 Elizabeth Johnson, #2 Carolyn Last-Johnson.
Ladies Over-50: #1 Elizabeth Johnson, #2 Audre Spence.

The veteran’s competition continues every evening this week until Friday beginning each day at 5:45 p.m. Some finals will be played on Friday night with the remainder being played from 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon (May 13th). Admission to the BSC is free and spectators are welcome.
The National Closed Championships will follow, beginning at the BSC on Monday May 15th.
