The seedings for the Playfair / Federal Bookmakers Barbados Squash Open have been announced. The top seeds are six time ladies champion, Karen Meakins from Barbados, and four time defending men’s champion Shawn Badrinath from Guyana. Three of the four finalists from last year are back again. Badrinath’s opponent in last year’s men’s final was Steve Smith (Jamaica) who is seeded at #4 this year. Meakins was beaten for the first time in this tournament in last year’s ladies final. Her opponent on that occasion was Karen Anderson (Jamaica) who has unfortunately not returned to defend her title. The full list of seeded players is given below:

Prize money will be paid to the top finishers in the Men’s A Division and the Ladies competition, which will be held along similar lines.
The tournament gets underway at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19th. The finals will be held on Saturday afternoon, June 24th.
