Top seeds advance to Ladies semi-finals

The top four ladies seeds all progressed smoothly to Thursday?s semi-finals when the Barbados National Squash Championships, sponsored by the Barbados Olympic Association, continued on Tuesday night, May 16th at the Barbados Squash Club.

Top seed and reigning five time national champion, Karen Meakins, enjoyed a relaxing evening when her opponent failed to show up after sustaining a back injury. Sonia Perkins, seeded #2, also cruised into yet another semi-final for her with a straight forward 9/3 9/1 9/2 victory over national junior player, Nadia McCarthy. #3 seed Lilianna White was equally dismissive and dispatched Carla Jackson 9/4 9/0 9/1, while the eagerly anticipated encounter between #4 seed Cheri-Ann Parris and her close rival, Bo Harris, produced some fine squash from both players who split the first two games before Parris powered her way to her second national semi-final 5/9 9/6 9/3 9/3.
