The Barbados Squash Rackets Association (BSRA) is pleased to announce that for the third successive year it has received assistance from Playfair Ltd. in the form of sponsorship to cover some of the cost of the upcoming Playfair Barbados Squash Open which will be played at the Barbados Squash Club from July 2-7, 2007.
BSRA President, Craig Archer, in accepting the sponsorship cheque from Mrs. Elizabeth Ward of Playfair Ltd. noted that in recent times Playfair had been a faithful supporter of the biggest squash tournament on the local squash calendar. He also confirmed that the total of 64 entries this year was 33% greater than last year and that 17 overseas players from as far afield as England, Jamaica, British Virgin Islands, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Guyana had confirmed that they would be participating.
?Overall the standard of the field this year is higher than in 2006 and we are really looking forward to some exciting squash in another week or so?, Archer noted. ?There are sixteen players in both the Men’s A and Ladies A competitions, while the Men’s B event is a fully subscribed knockout draw of 32?.
